"I reckon North Carolina is the place to be for discovering musical wizards. First, we got Stephen LaVineLeah LawsonThe Collection, and now, brace yourself for Anna Hudson – the maestro mixin' up genres in her latest single, "The Way It Ends". It's like she's playing a game of mix-and-match with indie-folk, folk-pop, and just a dash of indie-rock."                                 -Indie Music Center
"This song… this is a “moody” song. You can feel the emotional gravity just hanging in the air with the whole song."

Originally inspired by a painting of downtown London in her basement, “The Way It Ends” has evolved significantly since its genesis and is arguably Hudson’s most authentic creation to date. It paints a pretty picture out of something sad, romanticizing the utterly devastating human experience that is known as unreciprocated love.

Hudson wrote the track and co-produced it alongside fellow Berklee College of Music student Ellen Cordisco, and released it on February 2nd, 2024. The track features Hudson on acoustic guitar, with dreamy vocals and strings creating a classic soundscape fit to be found at an outdoor festival or in a rom-com. As the song progresses, so does its emotion, leading the listener into an almost-rock anthem as the end approaches.
